GOOGLE BOOKSEARCH Amazon und Bundesjustizministerium gegen Vergleich
04.09.2009 09:13In den Streit um Google Booksearch schaltet sich nun auch Online-Buchhändler Amazon ein. Google hatte vor Gericht eine Billigung des umstrittenen Vergleiches erreicht, bei dem der Internetriese den US-Buchautoren und Buchverlagen eine pauschale Entschädigung zahlt und im Gegenzug ohne deren Einverständnis einholen zu müssen, Bücher digitalisieren kann.
Das Bundesjustizministerium unter der Führung von Brigitte Zypries versucht deutsche Verlage und Autoren aus diesem Vergleich herauszunehmen, weil sie die Urheberrechte verletzt sieht. Auch Amazon sieht das Google Book Settlement als wettbewerbsgefährdend an und legt nun in letzter Minute Einspruch gegen das Gerichtsurteil ein. Neben der Verletzung der Urheberechte führt dies auch zur Benachteiligung der Verbraucher.
Während Amazon für ihre Buchscandienste die Erlaubnisse eingeholt hat, wirft man Google vor, das US-Urheberrecht quasi nach Belieben auszulegen. Lediglich Sony spricht sich ebenfalls für eine Digitalisierung der Bücher nach Google-Vorgehensweise aus.
